The wife of the immediate past Senate Minority Leader, Her Excellency, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio has built, furnished and donated a State-the-Arts 4-Bedroom bungalow as well as a motorcycle to the family of an accident victim, Mrs. Mercy Theodore Ebi.

Presenting the house and motorcycle to the victim’s family at Ukana Ikot Ankak in Essien Udim Local Government Area on Monday, March 25, 2019, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio stated that the gesture was in line with her husband’s unwavering zeal and passion that he has for the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in particular and the State in general.

Mrs. Akpabio who was represented by the Director-General, Sen. Godswill Akpabio Campaigns Organization, Arch. Ubokutom Nyah assured the victim’s family and other critical stakeholders that despite “distraction, betrayal and hatred by few disgruntled elements within its folks”, the pace of human and capital development spearheaded by him in the area will not be halted.

The former Governor’s wife explained that the addition of Motorcycle to the Ebi’s family was necessary to enhance movement and economic fortune.

She urged the people of the Senatorial District not to be deterred by the outcome of the “sham elections conducted by biased INEC umpire” in the State as Sen. Godswill Akpabio will reclaim his position in the Senate.

According to him, “We have come to assure you that Sen. Godswill Akpabio has not fallen as speculated by mischief makers and political jobbers.
We will continue to walk, run and fly with Akpabio as he is towering higher above his traducers”.

Mrs. Akpabio, popularly addressed as ” Eka Esit Mbom”, informed the victim’s family that arrangements have been concluded for the victim, Mrs. Ebi, to commence treatment at a Specialized Hospital in Enugu where her amputated hand would be worked upon and possible replacement with a prosthetic hand so that it can be effectively utilized.

Also speaking, the former Secretary to the State Government, Sir Etekamba Umoren, observed that Sen. Akpabio’s provision of succour to the downtrodden did not come as a surprise as giving remains a trademark in his gene.

Sir Umoren who is a retired Permanent Secretary while acknowledging Mrs Ebi’s support to the APC and Godswill Akpabio led to the unfortunate incident, urged the family to ensure proper and good use of the facilities which God had passed through Akpabio to bless them with.

In his reaction, the Village Head of Ukana Ikot Ankak, Chief Paulinus expressed gratitude to Dr. Godswill Akpabio for the donation to one of his Subjects and assured him of their continuous and unwavering support and prayers.

Responding, the Victim’s husband, Mr Theodore Ebi commended Sen. Akpabio and wife for standing by them in their moment of adversity through the donation and other life enhancement equipment.

The Victim Mrs Mercy Theodore Ebi who could not hold her tears of joy, thanked God for His benevolence and preserving her life to witness goodness in her through Sen. Akpabio and wife.

Mrs. Ebi who lauded Sen. Akpabio and his immediate family for coming to her aid, confessed that she could neither have had the money to pay for her hospital bills nor settle her children’s school fees since she was incapacitated.

She prayed God to bless and sustain Sen. Godswill Akpabio and family.

It could be recalled that Mrs. Mercy Theodore was one of the defectors that joined Sen. Akpabio from the PDP to the APC.
She was involved in an auto crash during last year’s registration of new Members into the All Progressive Congress, APC, where her left hand was badly injured.

On the entourage of the convoy for the donation were the former Chairman, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council, Hon. Gloria Useh; Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women Leader, Mrs. Ekaette Isong among others.
