All Progressives Congress supporters in Oyo State, on Thursday, teamed up with the state sanitary officers to clean the streets in a show of solidarity with the governorship candidate of the party, Adebayo Adelabu.

The 200-man cleaning team, led by Mrs. Fatimah Hassan, revealed that they were interested in partnering with the government in ensuring that the city was clean.

The cleaning was carried out as part of the Oyo State Sanitation Challenge, which involved youths cleaning their immediate environments, schools, markets, communities and general streets in the state.

Hassan, who is the president of the Bayo Adelabu Youth Organisation explained that,”The youths were eager to partner with the government of the day and help take the state to the next level as it transits from the steady hands of incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi to a youthful and digital leader in Mr. Adebayo Adelabu.”

She stated that one of Adelabu’s campaign promise borders on cleanliness.

The cleaning team covered the five geo-political zones of the state;  Ibadan, Ibarapa, Oke Ogun, Ogbomosho and Oyo.

The challenge required members of each zone to clean up their communities and engage community members on the various benefits of a cleaner environment.
