It all came out to be draw. No winner, no victor!

Deontay Wilder has retained his WBC heavyweight title after a draw against Tyson Fury in Los Angeles.
Fury celebrated on the ropes but he was denied on the judges’ scorecards, with Wilder given the nod 115-111 on one card, Fury 114-110 on another and the third scoring the fight 113-113.

The knockdown in the 12th therefore proved decisive as Wilder retained his world title after a draw was announced.

An action-packed undercard saw heavyweight contenders Joe Joyce and Luis Ortiz pick up big wins while Jason Welborn’s spirited display was not enough as Jarrett Hurd overpowered him to retain his light middleweight world titles

Here’s Round 12 Drama!

Wilder lands a massive punch in the first minute, Fury is on the ground again, it looks like it’s all over, he’s surely finished. Wilder’s dancing, he’s laughing. But somehow the Gypsy King peels himself off the canvas, this is phenomenal. He needs to buy time.

Fury lands a peach of a hook on Wilder’s body, where is he getting the energy from? He looks like he’s been re-energised by the hit that almost ended him. How is he doing this?

Extraordinary, absolutely incredible. He somehow came back and survived – no, thrived – after the drama.

Fury jumps on the ropes and celebrates. The two fighters embrace and the anxious wait for the result now. It can only be a Fury win?!

100% we will do the rematch

‘I definitely won the fight’

Wilder v Fury ends in a draw

Deontay Wilder says: “With the two knockdowns I definitely won the fight. I don’t think he had control. I wasn’t hurt. I did not sit still, I was too hesitant, I started overthrowing the right hand. I was forcing my punches too much.

“I don’t know if it (a rematch) will be my next fight but would love it to be. We need to do it again.”

Now time for Tyson Fury. He says: “We’re on away soil, I got knocked down but I still believe I won the fight. I’m showing total professionalism. Thank you for the opportunity D, God bless you.

“The Gypsy King has returned. God bless America. I’m a professional athlete who loves to fight. He is a fearsome fighter. The world knows the truth. Thank you to every fan around the world.

“I’m a fighting man and Jesus has his control over me so I was never going to get knocked out. I came here tonight and fought my heart out. That is the second best heavyweight apart from me. We are both going home to our family safe.

“I’ve been away from my family for 10 weeks and just want to spend some time with them over Christmas. One hundred per cent we will do the rematch. We’re the best two heavyweights in the planet. There is another heavyweight who is a chicken. (Anthony) Joshua where are you?
