THE INSTITUTE OF ROAD TRANSPORT WORKERS VISITS OYRTMA HEADQUARTERS, SETS TO LAUNCH MICRO-BUS EMPOWERMENT SCHEME IN OYO STATE.

Earlier today, The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), Mogaji Akin Fagbemi received in working visit, the leadership of The Institute of Road Transport Workers (IRTW), Oyo State Chapter.
The Institute led by its Chief Operations Officer, Com. Bamigbade Joseph came to solicit for the maximum support of OYRTMA in it’s planned move to launch the Micro-bus Empowerment Scheme in partnership with Sterling Bank Plc.
Describing the relative importance of the Scheme, Mr. Simeon Agada, Senior Project Officer said, “the institute aims to bring unprecedented sanity to the transportation environment in Oyo State through robust education, re-orientation and effective dissemination of relevant traffic information to all vehicle operators in the State. Apart from the thousands of employment opportunities this scheme aims to achieve, it would equally ease traffic flow across the state as our operators are highly skilled and well trained drivers of global standard”, he concluded.
In his reaction, Dr. Fagbemi expressed the readiness of the State Government through the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority to give required support to ensure the successful launching and sustenance of the Micro-bus Empowerment Scheme. He implored the management team of the Institute to engage all relevant stakeholders in the State to ensure the smooth running of the Scheme.
He further prayed for an itch-free take off and accident-free operations of all vehicles that would be deployed for the operations of the Scheme.
The Micro Bus, although to be operated within specified routes across the State, is designed for Seven passengers only and a licensed driver.
