The National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS), in Oyo State, and the Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) have commiserated with the Ogbomoso community, together with the family of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) students who lost their lives on Tuesday during a ghastly motor accident which happened along Aroje road, in Ogbomoso.
It is reported that the two students’ union body in a separate condolence messages signed by their chairmen and national senate presidents respectively, said that the news met the Oyo State leaderships of the unions with great shock and extreme sadness.
The NANS chairman of Oyo State chapter, comrade Asubiojo Olujuwon (Marshal) said that the lives of students are very dear to the association because they are the promising present and future of this country.
“NANS Oyo state is dutiful and very obliged to deeply share the pain and soberness of the moment with Ladokites and entire students community in the state.”
“As we share these condolences in sober reflection, we pray to God to cease occurrences like this amidst us and give others involved quick recovery, we pray that the lost souls of our dear ones are granted eternal rest.”
In his statement, Comrade Oke Wasiu Ayinde (Pattern), the National Senate President, Federation of Oyo State Student Union (FOSSU) through the Director of Media and Publicity of FOSSU, Comrade Ayankunle noted that the union joined other student bodies to commiserate with the families, colleagues, and school community of the victims who lost their lives in the car crash that occurred at Aroje area in Ogbomoso in the early hours of Tuesday, adding that the unfortunate incident has once again deprived the nation great potentials who would have contributed their quota to its development.
“I pray God will repose the souls of the dead and grant everyone connected to the victims the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, I beseech the University administrators to ensure the surviving victims get the necessary medical attention. I pray the Almighty grants them a speedy and full recovery. God, in His infinite mercies, will put an end to untimely death within the student community.”
He, however, appealed to the government to play its significant role in ensuring roads are safe enough for smooth and safe driving. noting that drivers, in their capacity, should as well take safety measures by ensuring their cars are in good condition before putting them on road, avoiding reckless driving, and complying with traffic rules and regulations.
