The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani has said the attendance of two governors from Niger Republic at the campaign rally of President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano State is lawful and within their rights
Governor Issa Moussa of Zinder and Maradi State Governor, Zakiri Umar, both from the Republic of Niger , had on Thursday joined the Kano rally in support of Buhari ’ s re – election , drawing criticisms from several Nigerians, including members of the Peoples Democratic Party .
But the National Secretary, Miyetti Allah , Mr Saleh Alhassan, in a telephone interview , told our correspondent that he did not find anything untoward about the presence of the foreign governors.
Alhassan said, “I think there is nothing suspicious or negative there .
They are our neighbours . Maybe they are interested in seeing how we mobilise for rallies .
“I think this kind of massive outpouring of supporters is something that the world is learning from Nigeria . So , probably , that sea of people is like tourism . I don ’ t see anything strange. Are they coming with money to give the party ?”
When asked if the PDP should also invite foreigners to their rally , he said, “They can even bring Donald Trump or they can get Jacob Zuma, who is a friend of ( PDP presidential candidate , Abubakar) Atiku . They share many things in common .”
According to him , the allegation by the PDP that the All Progressives Congress planned to import voters from Niger was disrespectful to the federal security agencies.
He said, “All those saying this don ’ t have respect for our institutions . Are they saying our immigration service is not working ? These are people that enjoy embarrassing our security agencies , like immigration, even to cast doubts on the capability and credibility of INEC.
“I think these are people that don ’ t want to go for votes . They simply want to heat up the polity with unnecessary diversions. ”
