The candidate of the All Progressives Congress who won the elections to represent the people of Lagos Island Constituency II in the House of Representatives has received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Prince Akiolu, a law practitioner defeated his nearest rival by a large margin. The senior lawyer who scored 12,988 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adamoh Olagbenga, who scored 4,345 votes received his certificate in Abuja. Other elected lawmakers, such as Honourable Femi Gbaja-Biamilla were also present at the ceremony – where they were also presented with their own certificates.
Receiving his certificate in Abuja last night, Prince Akiolu described his constituents as his strength.
“I am here because of the support I gained from the people in my constituency. I would like to tell them that I will never betray their trust.”
Speaking further, he reiterated his “promise to work hard to deliver the best for the people in his constituency.”
“I will move Bills that will improve the lives of my constituents. My areas of interest include education as I believe it is a tool that can change the lives of people. I will tap into the plans and provision of my party on what it has started in getting more children into schools. We will strengthen our education system through the law. These are small avenues that I personally plan to change and improve lives.”
