“It is without any iota of doubt that the present administration in Oyo State has recorded some epochal feats in critical sectors. These developments, all geared towards upping the bar of the socio-economic advantages of the people, are the reasons why we congratulate the governor and also asking him to continue on the noble path he has set for himself.

“Our people say: a child that we failed to educate would end up liquidating the our legacies. Governor Makinde has given a reassuring promise of a pleasant future to the children of Oyo State by laying the foundation of a solid education for them. “

The group particularly applauds the governor for the N60m bursary for Oyo State students at the Nigeria Law School and the 10 per cent reduction of school fees at the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, ditto for Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

Other laudable strides of the Makinde administration in the area of education, as cited by the group includes N300m for The Polytechnic, Ibadan; half a billion naira subvention to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and a similar half a billion grant to the 2,500 and 640 secondary schools as running costs.

On infrastructure, the group highlighted the passion which Governor Makinde puts into the construction of the Moniya-Iseyin Road towards improving rural agriculture and an approval of N9 billion for the project. Likewise is the repair of all inner city roads; the lightening up of the city roads.

On security, the group commends the fervor in which the Oyo State government showed commitment to the Southwest security outfit code named Amotekun and also the government’s continuous support to the Nigeria Police in material and logistics.

The group adulates the Oyo State government for placing a premium on workers and pensioners welfare and the promptness in the payment of salary and emoluments, so also in opening fresh employment opportunities.

Other areas where the group scores the Makinde government creditably are agriculture, healthcare, and social services – especially for the procurement of fire-fighting equipment and the modernization of the state’s owned mass media outfits.
