VCT Racing and Valuechain Technica LTD Make A Debut in the Nigeria Motorsports and Automotive Industry
Motorsports in Nigeria in recent years has been growing in leaps and bounds in Nigeria. With events such as Eleko Motor Race, Ondo Auto Rally, Sagamu Auto Rally, Road X Motorsports Championship and the XKart Race Series and others, the hitherto dormant aspect of the auto industry is rapidly taking an organized life of its own.
VCT Racing, a newly formed motorsports team debuted at the recent XKart Race Series, an event hosted at the Work and Play Arena, Sagamu, Ogun State.
VCT Racing also is encouraging and entrenching female participation in motorsports in Nigeria and currently has an all-female drivers team parading drivers such as Ms Omolewa Adesuyi, a print and crafts specialist, Ms Kumbi Cardoso, a telecommunications lawyer, Ms Dioneth Ezimora, a Nigerian automotive journalist and Mr John Momodu, a professional driver and automotive technician heads the team’s mechanics.
The newest addition to the list of motorsports events, the XKart Race Series held a few days ago and VCT Racing and Valuechain Technica LTD used the platform to debut and participate as a race team.
VCT Racing, a subsidiary of Valuechain Technica LTD, an automotive industry value addition company is headed by three astute men who have played one role or the other in the auto industry and have come together to use their decades old knowledge and experiences to add great value to the auto industry.
Mr Luqman Mamudu is the President, while Mr Edward Osakwe and Mr Adrian Egonu are the Vice Presidents of the company.
Mr Mamudu once served as an Acting Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Nigeria’s premier parastatal in charge of designs and developments in the Nigeria automotive industry. Equally, he is a former adviser to the federal government of Nigeria on automotive policy and a highly sought after automotive industry consultant with a passion for automotive development in Nigeria and automotive sports.
Mr Osakwe is a former co-founder of Eleko Motor Race. He also was the former Head of 4×4 Commission of the Automobile Sports Club of Nigeria (ASCN) and former Vice President of the Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria (ATCN), both affiliates of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in Nigeria.
While Mr Egonu is a former President of the Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN), a former Communication Head, ATCN, publisher Naija Car Lovers, author of the book; Fundamentals of Safer Road Usage, a former mechanic and motorsports enthusiast and the 1st runner up at the 2017 Sagamu Auto Rally.
At the last XKart race event, the 4th in the series, after a gruelling 30 laps race, team VCT Racing took the 5th position out of 8 teams.
The team is dedicated to rising to the pinnacle of motorsports in Nigeria and beyond, also contributing to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) trajectory of our nation. This is by fostering partnerships with Mechatronic Departments of Nigerian universities and technical institutions to grow this unit to achieve one of her long-term focus which is to build vehicles raced by VCT Racing.
While Valuechain Technica LTD is also poised, dedicated and focused on creating, sustaining, adding and elevating values in the auto industry in Nigeria.
