AFCON 22: Nigeria drawn against Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Sudan


The Super Eagles have been drawn with Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in the group stage of the forthcoming 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

 

The Three-time champs, who have been seeded in Pot A, was drawn against  Egypt on Tuesday night  in Yaoundé, Cameroon. 

Recall that Nigeria topped Group L of the qualifying series after overcoming teams such as Lesotho, Benin, and Sierra Leone.

Gernot Rohr’s men finished third at the last edition held in 2019 hosted by Egypt beating Tunisia 1-0 courtesy of a first-half goal from Odion Ighalo in the losers final.

The 2022 Afcon is expected to start on January 9 till February 6 with five host cities confirmed for the biennial tournament.
