AMPON Severe Relationship With First Bank Over Poor IT Network

The Association of Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (AMPON) has discontinued its banking relationship with a popular commercial bank in the country, First Bank of Nigeria Limited.

This decision, according to a prominent member of the association, was not unconnected with the poor network being experienced lately by the numerous customers of the bank, especially during the recent Eid el Kabir celebration.

Trendscopenews exclusively gathered that, the epileptic network of the bank denied AMPON members who were supposed to get some stipends for the celebration the opportunity.

The Association has since directed its account department to open a new account with another reliable bank.

Apologising to the affected members, AMPON’s President, Mr Wole Arisekola regretted suggesting First Bank to the Association in the first place.

He said, “after 14 years of banking with First Bank of Nigeria only, I opened a second account in another bank yesterday. Throught out the Ileya festival, their network dissapointed us as usual.

Like Baba Obasanjo’s proverb, if you embark on a journey with a car and the car constantly develops faults, it is better to alight and join another vehicle if you want to reach your destination. And to all Forum members who were due for stipends payment during the festival, our accountants will communicate with you guys, and also suggest a new bank for the Association. I take full responsibility for the embarrassment.”
