Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has sent another list of commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and ratification, which this online news medium can confirm.
The governor, who has always put the list to his chest springs a staunch surprise with the new set of nominees sent to the assembly on Thursday.
Recall that Makinde, out of the supposed seventeen (17) commissioners had forwarded seven names to the House of Assembly and had also been ratified since then.
Amongst the names sent yesterday is a gubernatorial candidate who contested in the just concluded election held in March 2023, a source revealed.
Former Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulmojeed Olawale Mogbonjubola, and Hon Demola Ojo, also made the list.
Amongst other names made available to this medium are former assembly member and Special Adviser to the governor, Hon. Ademola Ige, Akin Funmilayo, Segun Olayiwola, and Barr Olasunkanmi.
Also nominated is Prince Dotun Oyelade, a veteran broadcaster and manager at the state broadcasting corporation, BCOS as well as Hon Wasiu Olatunbosun
According to our source, “the Oyo State House of Assembly has proposed an urgent sitting scheduled for today but if postponed, the nominees would be announced later next week” he said.
Recall that the batch of the seven (7) commisioners list including Hon Musibau Babatunde, Shangodoyin, Ashamu, Adebisis Adeniyi among others has been confirmed after ratification by the Oyo State Assemby.
