Tests Negative For COVID-19

Former governor of Oyo State and Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abiola Ajimobi has tested negative for Coronavirus.

A source who is very close to the former governor confirmed to WazobiaReporter that the negative result came yesterday.

Though still under close observation, the source said that life of the 70-year-old former governor is no longer under any threat.

In the same vein, the Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Oyo state chapter, Dr Olatunde Abdulazeez has assured Nigerians that the party’s Deputy National Chairman South, Senator Abiola Ajimobi will resume office as the acting national chairman of APC either next week Monday or Tuesday.

Dr Abdulazeez revealed this while speaking on a Yoruba  programme on Lagelu FM this Saturday, monitored by GOALPOACHER NEWS. When asked by the moderator, Ajibola Akinyefa to react to the crisis rocking the party at national level, the party’s spokesperson without mincing words said,

“we don’t have issues in our party, Etta is the one acting on behalf of our leader, His Excellency Abiola Ajimobi.”

When asked to comment on the health condition of Ajimobi, he said,

“By the Grace,by the Grace of God, you know the ultimate power belongs to God, but I can assure you that our leader, Senator Abiola Ajimobi will resume office as the acting National chairman of our party by Monday or latest Tuesday next week.”

You recall news had filtered online media on Thursday night that the former Oyo Governor had died while others reported he was in coma.

The news of his death was quashed by Ajimobi’s spokesperson, Bolaji Tunji, who said the former Governor was alive but needs our prayers.

Ajimobi, who was admitted at the First Cardiology Consultants in Ikoyi, Lagos, was rumoured to have died on Thursday. His Media Aide, Bolaji Tunji, promptly dispelled the rumour, describing it as false.
