K1 saved Fuji music from extinction, but most GenZ wouldn’t know that . Dr Sikiru Atinde Barrister and Kollington Ayinla had grip on that genre before Wasiu broke their monopoly. Had Mayegun not come in , Fuji would have gone the way of Juju music .

In the early 80s , young and old educated Yorubas listens to Juju music , Fuji was for Alapata , market men and women and mostly uneducated people . That’s the fact .
It was Wasiu Ayinde Talazo Fuji that brought in young vibrant educated Yoruba men and women to embrace Fuji music . Since that time , K1 has continue to flourish and evolves with his modern Fuji , thus encouraging younger generations like Pasuma , Malaika, Osupa and many others to join the trade .

I remember the early 90s when Sir Shina Peter took reign of Nigerian music scene , K1 was the only one in Fuji music who could draw the likes of Segun Alawaye , Dotun Lobisco , Ade Bendel and all other young socialites to his brand of Fuji music .

King Sunny Ade , Obey and Shina peters dominates Yoruba parties in the 90s , only K1 was able to break in and create a niche for Fuji music to be well accepted by all sundry.

Don’t get me wrong ; Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister gets the credit for laying the perfect foundations for all other Fuji musicians, but it was Wasiu Ayinde who took Fuji to another level no one has ever done before and still taking it higher . When I saw him performed at 2 presidential inaugurations , that caps it all

K1 is what King Sunny Ade and Obey were praying to have in Juju music . Ayinde Marshal took reign of Fuji from Barrister ( no disrespect to Ayinla Kollington) and has been a good custodian of that genre . Let’s face the fact , Fuji would have gone the way of Juju music if not for Wasiu Ayinde .

Wasiu Ayinde should be celebrated and respected while he is still around . All Nigerian tribes listens and dance to his music , he has taken Fuji to another level .
I am not dabbling into Fuji originator , all I know is Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal has paid his dues , it’s wrong for any insolent youth to disrespect him.

I couldn’t believe it when he started performing shows in nightclubs full of young socialites . Every Nigerian party you go, his songs dominates by 80% . Till date , no Fuji songs could beat ;Siliki or his recent Ade Ori Okin .
